Machine/Motion Control
New Frontier Technologies provides consulting, technical, and onsite commissioning services to allow Original Equipment Manufacturers and end-users the ability to reduce down-time, provide machine flexibility and accomplish precision control of complex coordinate machine movements. Machine Vision
New Frontier Technologies provides consulting and technical services for the implementation and development of state-of-the-art machine vision applications leveraging cutting edge artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms to eliminate human-error and provide unsurpassed results in visual inspection of some the world’s most challenging issues such as Foreign Object Detection in food production and detection of breaks in production conveyor belts.
Robotics
New Frontier Technologies provides consulting, technical, and onsite commissioning services for a multitude of robotic applications including Articulated (4-7 axis), SCARA, Cartesian, Delta, and Collaborative Robots as well as Autonomous Robots. The robotic implementations provide the ability to replace the human operator to greatly reduce fatigue, injuries due to ergonomics and/or range of motion, severe temperature exposure while maintaining a consistent workflow to the production environment.
The robotic applications range from simple pick-n-place applications to automatic palletization of products of varying size and shape to sophisticated, coordinated assembly activities utilizing vision-guided robotics to locate and orient the required components as well as performing complex joint manipulations that were previously believed only possible by humans.
Autonomous robots can be implemented to provide improved productivity and efficiency, lower labor costs, increased safety for employees in high-risk areas, and the ability to re-assign employees to more value-added tasks by allowing the autonomous robot to deliver goods/products throughout the production facility without the need for intervention by humans.
Terry Dodson, the Director of Engineering at New Frontier Technologies, discusses the cutting edge of technology for industrial automation and controls with Lonnie Worthington, the Motion Control & Vision Group Manager. This project uses Motion Vision and AI to detect Foreign Objects on Conveyor Belt systems. New Frontier Technologies trained a learning algorithm, aka a neural network, to detect protein sources and foreign object particles like bag tails, metals and plastics.

Terry Dodson, the Director of Engineering at New Frontier Technologies, discusses the cutting edge of technology for industrial automation and controls with Lonnie Worthington, the Motion Control & Vision Group Manager. This project uses a Gocator imaging sensor and Motion Vision to detect small flaws and potential breaks in a manufacturing facility’s interlock conveyor belts. This line profiler provides a 3D image map of the belt as it moves and tracks missing pieces. It includes an indexing feature for end-of-shift verification by the operator.
